Father’s car was broke in this morning. We didn’t know it was broke in even though my mother saw the driver’s door not locked plus not closed properly (when out to turn off next door’s main water supply because a tap burst and they don’t seems to notice it). Mother thought it was just another forgetful act of my father. So, she started to scold him again.
The first one to find out about the incident was my father himself. He was supposed to start the car to send me to school (replacement for the haze holidays). But instead of starting the car straightaway, he was like, looking here, looking there searching for things in the car. After about 3 minutes, then only he started the car. He also used sigh language to ask me close the front gate, which we don’t usually do unless we are going out for a long time. Feeling weird, I close the gate and get into the car.
Father: I think our car was broke in.
Torpor: Really?! Are you sure?
Father: You see, the things are everywhere. My diaries in the briefcase are on the back seats. The coins I keep in the compartment are all gone.
Torpor: Oi, then mummy was wrong lo. You did lock your car but the thief unlocked it.
Father: I think I want to consider getting a dog again since more and more houses were broke in recently.
Torpor: But mummy is scared of dog wor…
Father: Train it la.
At night,
En. Azmin (next door with the tap burst): I think the thief wanted to get into my house after he opened your car. You see, there are foot prints on the wall. And the tap burst because he tried to step on it.
Father: Yea, maybe because the soil here (pointing at the part near the wall) is quite damp.
Mother: Idah, Idah… *calling another next door*
Idah: Yea aunty?
Mother: This morning uncle’s car got broke in. But only some coins were taken. En. Azmi’s tap also kena step until burst. We suspect he wanted to climb over but instead step on the tap and broke it, so fleet at once.
Idah: Really?! I lost my Timble Land leather shoes and my abang’s leather boots also went missing this morning.
Torpor: Wah, then he must have planned to break into our house in one time lo.
En. Azmi: *heard about missing shoes, faster check his too* Saya punya satu pasang sport shoes hilang. Adidas punya summore…
Idah: Eh, my mother just told me my daughter’s Hush Puppy leather shoes also gone la…
Torpor: Then the thief’s movement should be like that. First he went to Idah’s house. Then climb over to ours and opened my father’s car. After that, he climbs over the wall into En. Azmi’s. On his way out, he step on the tap as it is the only place he can step onto to climb back into our house and get out (En. Azmi’s gate is very high). That’s when the tap burst.
